Careers LEI is actively recruiting practice builders to help lead the firm’s expansion. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit proposals to LEI management. Such proposals could include the possibility of setting up new physical offices in Asia or the Middle East, expanding LEI’s transportation activities, building upon LEI’s water expertise, or other new or enhanced practice areas consistent with LEI’s focus on economic and financial analysis for the energy and infrastructure industries. Composition of Staff London Economics International LLC staff consists of professionals from the fields of economics, finance, and electrical engineering. Our organization is relatively flat, consisting of three tiers: consultants, senior consultants, and managing consultants. In addition, industry experts in particular areas are hired to represent the firm and participate in projects as senior advisors. General Requirements All London Economics employees have a detailed understanding of economic principles, a minimum of two years work experience, strong writing skills, and an understanding of industry dynamics. In addition, they are capable of taking initiative, identifying opportunities, and performing sophisticated and relevant analysis for clients. Current Needs We are currently recruiting individuals with distinct knowledge bases for senior and managing consultant positions. In addition to coursework in economics and an understanding of economic fundamentals, these individuals will have seven to ten years of industry experience, the ability to manage projects, and demonstrated ability to bring in sufficient work for a 2-3 person team. The distinct skill sets we are seeking include knowledge of utility benchmarking and incentive rate-making. We are also seeking individuals with an understanding of load flow modeling and generation planning. In addition, we are seeking senior advisors with knowledge of the natural gas transportation sector. We are particularly interested in retired natural gas industry professionals, with knowledge of pipeline regulatory matters, engineering, or marketing. These positions would be part time, with flexible hours. All candidates must be comfortable working in a casual, non-hierarchical environment.
