Julia Frayer to moderate renewables and transmission panel at NECA Power Markets Conference

BOSTON, MA, November 13, 2020 – Julia Frayer, Managing Director of London Economics International LLC (“LEI”), joins a distinguished line-up of speakers at the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association (“NECA”)’s Power Markets Conference taking place on November 19, 2020.  The conference, entitled “Not Your Grandpa’s Power Grid? A conversation with RTOs on issues confronting the power market,” aims to assess the modern challenges on the horizon around the transformation of the electricity sector to use more renewables. The conference will tackle questions such as how can reliability be ensured through these changes and what is the optimal market design for the successful integration of large-scale renewable energy and distributed energy resources?

Ms. Frayer will moderate a panel focused on the intersection of renewables and transmission.  She will be joined by Paul Wattles, Senior Analyst of Market Design at ERCOT, Vandan Divatia, Director of ISO Policy and Interconnections at Eversource Energy, Eli Massey, Senior Advisor on Policy Studies at MISO, and Carissa Sedlacek, Director of Resource Adequacy – System Planning at ISO New England.

“Although all power markets are somewhat different, given legacy arrangements and local nuances, I believe there are opportunities to learn from each other.  I am looking forward to sharing ideas with our experts from ERCOT and MISO, and brainstorming in “real time” about the challenges and successes on the horizon for New England, with our local experts and conference attendees,” Ms. Frayer remarked.

NECA’s Power Markets Conference will be held virtually on the afternoon of November 19, 2020. Registration is available through NECA’s website.
